We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Criminal Defense Lawyer to join our reputable law firm in Marion & Alachua, FL. The ideal candidate should have 2-5 years of experience in criminal defense law, with a strong passion for defending the rights of individuals facing criminal charges. As a Criminal Defense Lawyer at our firm, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice, representing clients in court, and ensuring their rights are protected throughout the legal process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Consultation: Meet with clients to discuss their cases, explain legal options, and provide guidance on the legal process.
  • Legal Representation: Represent clients in criminal defense matters, including but not limited to, drug offenses, DUI, domestic violence, theft, assault, and other criminal charges.
  • Case Analysis: Analyze the merits of cases, conduct legal research, and formulate effective defense strategies tailored to each client's unique situation.
  • Courtroom Advocacy: Appear in court to advocate for clients, present legal arguments, examine witnesses, and negotiate with prosecutors to secure favorable outcomes.
  • Documentation: Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and appeals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Legal Research: Stay updated on changes in criminal laws, precedents, and legislation, and incorporate this knowledge into the defense strategy.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff within the firm to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness in representing clients.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors when appropriate, always striving to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
  • Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest ethical standards, ensuring client confidentiality and maintaining the integrity of the legal profession.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Florida Bar and authorized to practice law in the state of Florida.
  • 2-5 years of experience practicing criminal defense law, with a proven track record of successful case outcomes.
  • Strong courtroom presence and excellent oral advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Knowledge of local court rules and procedures in Marion & Alachua, FL is a plus.
