Description:

A Civil Litigation Defense Firm is seeking a senior associate attorney with at least five years of experience in business and construction litigation matters. Our Business Litigation Practice Group helps clients successfully resolve business and construction-related matters, including but not limited to, business contracts, torts and disputes; commercial leases; construction defects; employment contracts; real estate, construction, and other contract matters.

Position Summary:
The Senior Associate Attorney provides legal counsel to existing clients. The Senior Associate Attorney is responsible for conducting legal research, drafting documents and pleadings; consulting with clients and experts; drafting and responding to discovery; document review; assisting with trial and deposition preparation, and other case management. Senior Associates may represent clients in court, depositions, and mediations.

  • Work Schedule: Varies, but will be available during regular business hours of the firm
  • Work Location: Hybrid in Maitland, FL or Fully Remote in Florida

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, lien related documents and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and litigation proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend client meetings, hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior attorneys.
  • Take fact and expert depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Analyze facts of the case and conflicts in legal matters, develop litigation strategy, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
  • Communicate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
  • Maintain client files to ensure up-to-date information is available to other attorneys, paralegals and support staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Competencies:
  • At least 5 years of strong, relevant, verifiable experience in a similar role.
  • Florida Bar Admission
  • Judicial clerkship experience or demonstrate strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess great time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
  • Must meet expectations for billing goals and enter all time contemporaneously with the associated legal work. Complete and accurate time entry is required on a daily basis.
