Are you a legal expert specializing in bankruptcy and restructuring?

An American Fortune Global 500 and Fortune 500 Company is looking for an experienced restructuring attorney with asset management and securities experience to support PGIM Fixed Income (the public fixed income asset management unit within PGIM, Inc.) The successful candidate will be based in Newark, N.J. and will join a team of lawyers supporting PGIM Fixed Income's asset management business.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by the business. We will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:
  • Advise on complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including restructuring strategy for U.S. and foreign in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Advise on multiple applicable legal and regulatory requirements arising in distressed situations and restructurings, with a particular focus on those relating to PGIM Fixed Income's asset management business.
  • Advise on committee and ad hoc group formation and retention of outside counsel.
  • Advise on debt finance and lending transactions as the need arises.
  • Collaborate with investment and business professionals.

What You'll Need:
  • Relevant and sophisticated law firm or in-house experience in bankruptcy and restructuring (4-7 years).
  • Knowledge of U.S. securities laws (including the Investment Advisers Act and the Investment Company Act).
  • Knowledge of ERISA, corporate governance, cross-border and international matters is desirable.
  • Stellar project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent judgment, including the ability to provide pragmatic advice and raise issues when appropriate.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients, colleagues and corporate partners at all levels, including senior management.
  • Admitted to practice in N.J. (or be able to obtain N.J. in-house counsel license as required).
