We currently have an exciting career opportunity in our fast-paced Legal Department. We are seeking a mid-level in-house contracting attorney with developed expertise and primary focus on drafting and negotiating technology contracts. The candidate would ideally have 5-12 years of experience. This Attorney will report ultimately to our General Counsel. Prior in-house accounting/consulting experience strongly preferred.

This role is virtual but will require periodic (a day or two monthly and then less frequently) travel to our Parsippany, NJ location for training, knowledge and relationship building.

This is a virtual position. For this position, the candidate will work virtually, but must be willing to travel to our Parsippany office 1-2x a month for meetings and collaboration with team members. Your Role.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Review and negotiate varied client and vendor agreements to identify risk considerations and exposures.
  • Primary expertise and focus on drafting/negotiating cyber and technology agreements, both enterprise level technology agreements as well as those required for client services (including software agreements, licensing/sub-licensing agreements, partner/reseller agreements, SaaS agreements, subscription agreements, data privacy and security agreement and other technology-related contracts).
  • Interface with and support Partners and employees as well as clients, vendors and third parties.
  • Ability to balance legal considerations with practical business needs.
  • Assist with confidentiality, data privacy and security issues including responding to vendor questionnaires and reviewing and negotiating data access/ sharing agreements and data protection agreements.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and industry best practices related to AI, biometrics, data governance, cyber security and privacy.

Your Experience.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • Preferred candidate has 5-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Law firm experience preferred.
  • Successful candidate should have professional service firm experience supporting client-service teams.
  • Juris doctor degree with active license to practice required.
  • Ability to navigate and advise on complex legal issues and provide straightforward, practical analysis and advice.
  • Exceptional advocacy, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with our businesses and Legal team.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated and self-directed. Candidate needs to be able to work efficiently, with varying degrees of supervision, and manage projects with competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Tech-savvy. You stay current on emerging technology and actively seek to learn more about them and their impact on businesses.
