About the Position:
We are seeking a talented and proactive Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic and growing legal team. As a Corporate Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our corporate legal functions, with a primary focus on contract review and compliance matters. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments within the organization to provide legal guidance and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

What You'll Do:
Responsibilities include:
Contract Review and Drafting:
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, customer agreements, partnership agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
  • Ensure that contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and industry standards.

Compliance Management:
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance across all business operations.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs and policies.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on compliance matters.
  • Advise on compliance issues as they arise.

Legal Advice and Risk Assessment:
  • Provide timely and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, risk assessment, intellectual property issues, and data privacy concerns.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating legal risks to protect the interests of the company.

Collaboration and Relationship Building:
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, sales, and human resources.
  • Build strong working relationships both internally and externally.

What We're Looking For:
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state bar association.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on insurance regulatory matters, contracts, and compliance matters.

Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of contract law, insurance law, and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in a corporate legal department is preferred.
