The position entails answering legal questions and offering legal advice over the telephone in our Hauppauge, NY office.
Responsibilities:
- Within the Legal Counsel Team manage incoming calls
- Identify and assess customer's legal issue and document our proprietary software
- Review documents and possibly draft on behalf of clients
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
- Go the extra mile to engage customers and build a telephone relationship
Job Requirements:
- Juris Doctor Degree plus NY and NJ state bar admission
- Experience preferably in Family Law, Landlord/Tenant, Employment, Collections, as well as Intellectual Property - General Practitioner
- Excellent research, writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong customer service and personal service orientation
- Ability to build rapport with clients and work in a collaborative atmosphere
- Experience with New Jersey Collection Letters.
- Ability to ask pertinent questions, actively listen to answers and synthesize information in order to formulate advice based on sound judgement and strong knowledge of the law and legal precedence
- Ability to keep client and Firm matters confidential
