The role and why it matters:
In recent years A Telecommunications Company has embarked on an ambitious and exciting growth strategy which has led to a significant transformation of the business and most recently, it led to the acquisition by global Telco powerhouse Ericsson.

The Commercial Legal Affairs team is looking to hire a full time legal counsel to support A Telecommunications Company's Procurement organization. This role supports Procurement's successful closure of contracts which includes new contracts, renewal orders, amendments, SOWs, and DPAs within the tight timelines necessary to support A Telecommunications Company's global business needs.

You will work closely with A Telecommunications Company procurement team, providing support with drafting, review, negotiation, and management of our procurement contracts. You will:
  • Provide comprehensive legal support for global procurement activities.
  • Focus on dynamic legal challenges in a global technology environment.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with A Telecommunications Company policies, processes and risk tolerances and mitigating risks.

This role will report to the Senior Director, Legal Counsel, Commercial Legal Affairs and be a part of the Commercial Legal Affairs team within the Legal Department.

Legal and Business experience:
You will have experience and possess proven ability in:
  • negotiating a wide range of procurement agreements, including complex technology agreements
  • Working either as a lead legal support or sole legal support in a global technology company
  • Successfully managing multiple negotiations concurrently within strict deadlines
  • Providing procurement legal support for complete procurement lifecycle including new vendor agreement, renewals, amendments, new purchases, terminations and management of procurement related disputes.

What's required for application:
  • Minimum of 7 years of post qualification experience qualified to practice in the US
  • Prior experience in successfully supporting procurement activities in a fast paced, dynamic technology company
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong team player
    • Established record of employing diplomacy and gravitas to drive consensus and results
    • Proactive and self motivated
  • Strong transactional and management skills, a high level of integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards.
