An American Law Firm currently has an opening for a full-time lawyer to help support our Land Use practice as a part of the Real Estate & Natural Resources Department.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • At least 3 years of experience with real estate, environmental, land use, administrative law, general litigation, including:
    • Appearance at public hearings
    • Administrative proceedings
    • General litigation including briefing and oral advocacy
    • Research and review of development feasibility
    • Appellate briefing
    • Analyzing administrative codes and regulations
    • Drafting land use applications
  • Practice experience in real estate and/or environmental law, administrative law, or litigation matters is a plus, and could be considered in lieu of the requisite land use experience. If requested, candidates may also be considered for a position in more than one of these practice areas.
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid research, analysis, writing, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence.
  • Strong client service ethics.
  • Strong communication, self-initiative, and time management skills
  • Interest in business development in the land use real estate/construction and/or natural resources industry
  • Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for immediate reciprocity (required).
  • This position will be based in either Portland or Bend, Oregon.
