A Worldwide Designer, Manufacturer & Integrator of Motion Control Parts & Systems Company, a newly created wholly owned subsidiary of A Worldwide Designer, Manufacturer & Integrator of Motion Control Parts & Systems Company is hiring a results-oriented and business-minded General Counsel. Reporting to the President of MMA, the General Counsel will serve in a hands-on role as trusted counsel to MMA leadership and the MMA Board of Managers.

To be considered for this role, here's what you will ideally bring with you:
  • J.D. degree and license to practice law in good standing, preferably in New York State
  • 12-15 years of legal experience, ideally at a well-regarded law firm and/or inhouse counsel position, preferably in the aerospace and defense sector
  • 10+ years demonstrated experience supporting US Government Contracts, with direct experience in FAR and DFARS, regulations and systems applicable to classified programs, including working knowledge of the NISPOM, Special Access Programs, OPSEC, cyber security regulations and familiarity with the USG Department of Defense Systems of Record.
  • Knowledge about current and future laws, regulations, policies and trends affecting the aerospace and defense business
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise, direct and motivate legal professionals
  • Experience working collaboratively and cooperatively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop strong trusted working relationships with MMA leadership and Board of Directors

As General Counsel you will be responsible for:
  • Keeping MMA's leadership advised of all relevant legal developments
  • Formulating tactics and strategies in order to advance MMA's objectives and goals in a manner consistent with applicable laws and regulations
  • Providing practical, strategic, legal and business advice and counsel to the MMA organization
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all legal matters within the operating group and advising on key legal issues impacting the business
  • Managing MMA's corporate governance, including attending all Board of Managers meetings and recording minutes and resolutions
  • Leading a team of legal professionals dedicated to MMA
  • Leading the process for negotiating and executing a wide variety of agreements and contracts, managing intellectual property and structuring mergers and acquisitions
  • Overseeing the Facility Security Officer organization, ensuring security clearances and classified materials are properly maintained
  • Coordinating with A Worldwide Designer, Manufacturer & Integrator of Motion Control Parts & Systems Company General Counsel and Legal Department at A Worldwide Designer, Manufacturer & Integrator of Motion Control Parts & Systems Company. as to MMA's legal service needs and issues affecting MMA and/or A Worldwide Designer, Manufacturer & Integrator of Motion Control Parts & Systems Company.
  • Participating in joint councils and/or committees with A Worldwide Designer, Manufacturer & Integrator of Motion Control Parts & Systems Company's Legal Department regarding policies and legal mandates affecting both A Worldwide Designer, Manufacturer & Integrator of Motion Control Parts & Systems Company
  • Participating as member of Ethics Leadership Committee and in Ethics activities
