Description:

Essential Function:
Handles or manages a variety of litigation, including general liability, product liability, trademark, patent, and contract disputes. Manages pre-litigation processes to anticipate and guard against legal risks involving the company. Responsible for hiring and managing outside counsel for litigation matters. Handles routine to complex legal matters for assigned business units to ensure maximum protection of the company's legal rights and to maintain its operations within the limits prescribed by law. Work with internal partners to manage responses to government agencies in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree, law degree, and law license in good standing required
At least 7 years practicing law with a strong law firm background
Experience working as in-house counsel for a company in the consumer or retail sectors would be preferred
Actual trial experience strongly preferred
Outstanding written and oral communication skills and unquestioned ethics and integrity
