Position Summary:
The Corporate Counsel – Legal (Property Development) strengthens A Chain of Health Clubs by providing legal support to help clients advance their business goals and objectives while mitigating legal risks, including cross-functional contributions to business initiatives.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Extensive experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating letters of intent, purchase agreements (acquisitions and sales), ground leases, space leases, and any appropriate restrictive covenants, easement agreements, development agreements, etc. Prefer significant experience on the tenant side of leasing transactions.
  • Spearhead and manage multiple real estate and development transactions with little required oversight in a fast-paced high-growth company.
  • Review and analyze due diligence for real estate transactions, including title, survey, and due diligence.

  • Able to effectively multi-task with tight deadlines independently and on a team with diverse personalities and work styles
  • Able to build strong working relationships with business clients
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, draw valid conclusions, and recommend practical solutions in light of legal issues and risks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to operate a personal computer, including strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SmartSheets.

Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Years of Experience:
  • Experience in a dynamic in-house environment is preferred, but not required.
  • At least five years' experience as an in-house real estate attorney or as a commercial real estate attorney at a law firm.

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
J.D., admitted/licensed to practice in Minnesota.
