A Agricultural Chemical Company is hiring a Commercial Counsel reporting to the Associate General Counsel for the Crop Protection Business Platform. This position will be responsible for providing legal and strategic guidance to internal clients and structuring, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements.

This role is based at A Agricultural Chemical Company's headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana and follows the Company's flexible work arrangements that require a commitment to be on-site during a portion of the week. May require some limited travel.

Key Responsibilities – What you will do to help us grow!
  • Provide timely, clear and actionable legal and strategic counsel on a wide range of crop protection commercial matters.
  • Promptly draft, review and negotiate a variety of crop protection and some more general commercial agreements, including confidentiality, sales, distribution, licensing, purchasing, supply chain and manufacturing-related arrangements.
  • Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams to negotiate complex commercial transactions.
  • Advise on company policies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and educate clients through regular communications, trainings, and other appropriate methods.
  • Participate in and influence decision-making processes with clients and stakeholders.
  • Consistently anticipate, guard against, and propose mitigation strategies for the management of potential contractual and compliance risks.
  • Become a trusted and collaborative partner to the North American and global crop protection business development, commercial and integrated operations teams.

Qualifications:
What expertise have you grown – What do you bring to the table?
  • JD from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Presently licensed to practice law in at least one state and be in good standing with no disciplinary record.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Minimum of three years of commensurate legal experience.
  • Excellent judgment in assessing and communicating legal risks while also understanding and working collaboratively within the business strategy.
  • The ability to work independently and without dedicated administrative or paralegal support and limited outside counsel support.
  • Excellent people skills, positive attitude and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex legal issues verbally and in writing in a clear and understandable manner to all levels of the organization.
