The Attorney Recruitment, Professional Development, and Diversity Department of the A Government Entity is seeking an attorney in Springfield or East Saint Louis to assist the Department in the recruiting of attorney candidates, promoting a diverse workforce, and managing training opportunities for lawyers in the Office of the Attorney General.

In terms of recruitment, responsibilities include working with various Division and Bureau Chiefs to assess current vacancies, recruit diverse candidates, conduct interviews, and review and route applications. This attorney shall also manage information on the recruitment database, participate in recruiting events with law schools and professional associations, and communicate with potential candidates. The Deputy Director will also assist in the marketing, recruiting, and reviewing of candidates for the Office's law student clerkship program.

In terms of professional development, responsibilities include working with content experts inside and outside the Office to create customized content on various professional development and business process topics for attorneys and staff. Specifically, this attorney will: recruit internal candidates to present on a variety of topics; research vendors and outside consultants to find appropriate assistance in terms of content expertise and cultural fit; maintain ongoing relationships with outside content experts across a range of relevant professional development topics; and lead, facilitate, and evaluate training sessions of various types. The attorney will also assist the Office in the pursuit of various diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Qualifications:
This position requires graduation from an accredited law school and at least 3 years of experience as a licensed attorney in Illinois. Experience leading training sessions on a variety of topics is preferred. Prior experience in professional recruiting/networking and/or human resources is a plus as well. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position. This position requires regular travel to various law schools and other events as well as on-site visits to the various offices across the state.
