Description:

Under the direction of the General Counsel or designee, provides in-house transaction legal services to Pace. Drafts, negotiates, reviews, and revises contracts, agreements, and policies; conducts legal research and writes legal memoranda; handles real estate matters, including closings; and performs other duties as assigned or required. Travel to Cook and its collar counties is required.

Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor degree. Must have a valid Illinois driver's license and a good driving record. Must have a license to practice law in the State of Illinois. Admission to the Illinois State Bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois is preferred. Must have a minimum of three years' previous experience practicing contract and real estate law with an excellent work history. Previous experience defending mechanics liens cases in court is preferred. Must be proficient using Microsoft suites applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe. Must possess strong research skills and the ability to use Westlaw. Must demonstrate excellent analytic and oral and written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of contract and real estate law. Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to successfully manage time and prioritize work. Must have strong reading skills including excellent reading comprehension. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Must have a demonstrated ability to identify issues, evaluate risks, and recommend resolutions. Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment but travel to Cook and its collar counties is required. This position is subject to the provisions set forth in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 (c) of the State Officials and Employee Ethics Act.
