Job Details:
The Associate Counsel will be primarily responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, and providing general legal support and advice to the business.

What you will do:
  • Draft, review and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements, including but not limited to licensing agreements, supplier agreements, distribution agreements, independent contractor agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare timely and concise legal memoranda as needed.
  • Provide accurate, relevant and timely advice to A Toy Company' business personnel on a variety of legal topics that relate to A Toy Company' business, products and services.
  • Manage and mitigate risks by issue spotting potential legal issues and assisting in designing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations that apply to A Toy Company' operations.
  • Promote legal, compliance and risk management best practices throughout the company.
  • Communicate with and manage third-party vendors such as external counsel and other legal consultants.
  • Design and deliver legal training to the business as needed.
  • Stay up to date with changes to relevant legislation that may impact A Toy Company' business and operations.
  • Assist in any other projects as directed by A Toy Company' General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel.

What we look for:
  • Law degree from an accredited law school and duly admitted or qualified to practice law in Florida or as authorized in house counsel.
  • Transactional attorney with a minimum of 3-5 years experience.
  • Prior in house experience at a major company is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Highly passionate, problem solver with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Google Docs and other Google applications.
  • Experience using SmartSheet is highly desirable.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Multilingual is a plus (Spanish and English preferred)
