Description:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.- Assists with litigation proceedings and filings such as conducting internal fact investigation, responding to third-party subpoenas, preparing and filing pleadings and motions, handling discovery requests and responses, reviewing legal briefs, attending mediations, depositions, hearings and other court proceedings, and preparing cases for trial and/or settlement.
- Prepares legal documents such as agreements, and contracts for review, approval, and use by the Company.
- Performs legal and general research, evaluates findings, and assists with developing strategies and arguments related to the same.
- Drafts and responds to demand letters and other non-litigation matters including administrative agencies.
- Assists outside counsel, directs case strategy, collects required internal documents, and reports to General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel.
- Advises on legal and business risks.
- Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization.
- Proactively identifies and provides suggestions and solutions to processes, workflows, templates, etc. in order to drive efficiency and productivity in the Legal Department and the organization.
- Assists General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel in performing a variety of legal tasks as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor degree and member of the Florida Bar
- 5 years legal experience
- Excellent legal writing and communications skills
- Superior legal research and analytical ability
- Great time management and organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
