The law firm of A litigation Law Firm seeks litigation associates to join our diversified practice. We aim to hire at least two associates. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.

A litigation Law Firm is a well-established law firm serving Upstate New York for over 200 years. The firm has diversified practice representing employees in civil rights and employment litigation under federal and state laws, as well as personal injury litigation, estate planning, probate, estates and trusts, and real estate transactions. The firm also advises businesses in banking and mortgage lending, commercial litigation, corporate formation, property tax assessment litigation, real estate and land use litigation, and real estate closing and title.

A litigation Law Firm is located Albany, New York, but we handle matters, often with co-counsel, throughout the country.

Position Responsibilities:
The associates will work in a variety of practice areas. They will handle all aspects of litigation such as investigations, research, representation before administrative agencies and in federal and state court, motion practice, legal strategy, complex discovery, management of electronically stored information, client advising, and settlement.

The associates will also participate in non-litigation matters such as estate planning, real estate, and other business-related transactions including contracts, business formations and acquisitions. The associates will work on diverse teams and engage directly with clients and other attorneys.

Experience And Qualifications:
The position requires:
  • At least one year of legal experience;
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with diverse clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, judges, paralegals, administrative staff, and other professional contacts;
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills as well as case management skills, including the ability to anticipate and plan for litigation challenges and client needs;
  • The ability to carry a varied caseload and to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Teamwork and individual initiative;
  • Commitment to and execution of the firm's core values, including respect, creativity, client-centeredness, and integrity, as well as to our inclusion and diversity framework;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to abide by applicable rules of professional responsibility and ethics;
  • A law degree from an ABA-accredited institution;
  • A license to practice law or the ability to become licensed to practice law in New York.
