Reporting directly to the Chief Legal officer and SVP, the Vice President, Legal Officer for Privacy, Cybersecurity, Technology, AI, and IP will play a pivotal role leading the Privacy, Cyber, Data, Tech, AI and IP legal teams in the Organization.

This leader will be responsible for privacy, data, cyber security, tech, AI and IP legal matters and advise An American Auto Insurance Company's businesses and corporate functions, including Compliance in these areas.

Manage a team of attorneys and other legal professionals; provide professional development and growth opportunities and promote employee engagement.

Responsibilities:
They will provide guidance and legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters including leading a legal team to:
  • Provide legal support to business units and corporate functions on all aspects of privacy and cyber security requirements, including consumer privacy.
  • Advise, counsel, structure and negotiate technology, and intellectual property-related transactions and contracts, including relating to internally developed and vendor provided Artificial Intelligence products, and supporting firmwide divisions.
  • Review and draft language for RFPs, contracts, and other legal documents related to privacy and data security requirements; negotiate arrangements related to the use and collection of personal information.
  • Review corporate initiatives involving inter-affiliate transfers of personal data to ensure compliance with applicable law.
  • Draft and negotiate technology contracts, including cloud computing agreements, software licenses, and other IT contracts and vendor agreements.
  • Support the creation of policies, procedures, and training to promote awareness of privacy, security, and records management requirements.

Qualifications:
  • JD or Law Degree is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in Corporate legal department including significant experience in privacy, cyber data, tech and IP related laws and regulations.
