As a Tax Attorney in our Corporate, Tax & Transactional Service Line, you will engage in sophisticated and challenging tax work for clients across the nation. Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of substantial corporate and transactional tax experience, including but not limited to structuring business entities and real estate investment vehicles, along with succession planning for closely held businesses. An LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning, or CPA preferred, but is not required.

This position can sit in any of the following offices: Akron, Columbus or Toledo, Ohio; Sarasota, St. Petersburg or Tampa, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina or Charleston, South Carolina.

Job Requirements:
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Active bar license for the state in which candidate will work out of
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning, or CPA preferred
  • 5+ years' professional law practice experience (private practice or in-house preferred)
  • Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals
  • Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases
  • Project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time
  • Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day
  • Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day
