Position Description: A Non-Profit Organization seeks a dynamic full-time Senior Staff Attorney to serve our clients who are experiencing homelessness, at imminent risk of homelessness, or living with HIV/AIDS. Working in partnership with homeless service providers, the Senior Staff Attorney will provide holistic legal services to tackle barriers that prevent our clients from securing housing or staying housed.

In addition to participating in community outreach events, including legal clinics, providing trainings for homeless service provider partners, and developing relationships with service providers, the Senior Staff Attorney will engage in creative problem solving and litigation to address novel issues as well as the following routine items: landlord tenant issues (including unlawful detainers); citation defense and parking ticket advocacy; public benefits advocacy; expungement and record clearing; reasonable accommodations for mental, physical and health related disabilities; credit/debt issues that negatively impact income such as collection, garnishments, student loan debt, as well as fines and fees associated with the criminal legal system.

  • Applicants must have at least five years of experience
  • An active license in good standing with the California Bar or another State Bar is required
