A Consumer Healthcare Products Company is recruiting for a Senior Patent Counsel , located in New Brunswick, NJ or Spring House, PA!Key Responsibilities:
- Primarily support A Consumer Healthcare Products Company Innovative Medicines R&D organization, and more specifically, the Discovery, Product Development and Supply team.
- Provide a full range of patent support functions, including patent preparation and prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis, rendering opinions, managing outside counsel, drafting and negotiating license and research collaboration agreements, due diligence support for business development and client counseling.
- Regularly make presentations and interact with the business regarding patent and intellectual property related contractual matters.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a biological related science is required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, admitted to the USPTO and licensed to practice in at least one state or the District of Columbia is required.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- A minimum of 5 years of life science patent experience at a law firm or in-house legal department of a multinational corporation is required.
- A demonstrated competency in the field of pharmaceutical drug discovery, development, and commercialization is required.
- The candidate must be fluent in both written and spoken English, be able to communicate effectively, and demonstrate the ability to counsel senior management.
- Experience in rendering patentability and non-infringement opinions is required.
- A positive attitude, the ability to work independently and across business functions and cultures with teams across multiple time zones are required.
- The ability to accommodate occasional travel is required.
