About the role:
In a Senior Corporate Counsel, Platform and Enterprise Products role, you will be responsible for helping bring new, cutting-edge Fintech products to market. This role provides the opportunity to work on challenging and novel issues in the embedded finance, payments and information technology space.

What you will be doing:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and transaction documents with a focus on bank/fintech partnership transactions, payments, and innovative financial service alliances.
  • Support new product strategies and initiatives by providing complex legal advice in a regulated financial services industry. Help scope and build scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new products, including drafting and maintaining product terms and conditions.
  • Advise our product, engineering, design, and go-to market teams on legal requirements and risks related to development and implementation of new products and modifications of existing products. Proactively identify risks and recommend reasonable mitigations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather input on privacy, data sharing, data security, regulatory, and risk considerations.
  • Navigate unclear areas of the law and interpreting and applying the law in new contexts and translate legal advice into actionable guidance for product and business teams.
  • Work with the Compliance team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory expectations.

What you will need:
  • A college degree and a Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school and be licensed to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
  • Commercial legal experience and expertise in the embedded finance or payments space is a HUGE plus!
  • Minimum of 8+ years in the practice of law in a high-quality law firm or in-house environment, and be a seasoned, experienced legal professional with a full understanding of corporate and commercial contract issues.
  • Considerable knowledge of and experience with the principals involved in drafting information and technology services agreements, software license agreements, and general commercial contracts.
  • Strong analytical and advisory skills, including the ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex legal questions relating to various business matters, such as product development and compliance. You must possess the ability to use creative problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a pragmatic and sound manner.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior management, outside legal counsel, and internal and external clients. This includes strong writing skills and the ability to draft contracts, dispute resolution documentation and other legal communications.
  • Strong negotiation and deal-making skills, including the ability to balance the company's goals and the client's needs, as well as the ability to deal with multiple parties with competing interests.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, colleagues and opposing counsel, and be able to work collaboratively with other team members, both within the Legal Dept and in other groups. You must also be able to mentor others in their professional legal development.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including the lead role in a wide variety of matters with both legal and non-legal professionals.
