The primary job responsibilities for this position involves a Florida licensed attorney with 5-10 years' experience in insurance defense, Workers' Compensation to work as in-house counsel. Medical deposition, hearing/ trial and litigation docket management experience is required. Attorney will be responsible for all aspects of the workers' compensation case, including but not limited to, evaluating the merits of a workers' compensation case, providing guidance and counsel through effective communication, medical review and negotiating, settling and litigating cases, if necessary. The attorney expected to defend high exposure workers' compensation claims.

Should possess strong negotiation and communication skills, a firm understanding of Florida workers compensation law, an ability to handle a large caseload, and effective leadership skills.

Attorney Must Live in The Miami-Dade /fort Lauderdale Area and Be Able to Commute to Courts Located in The Tri-County Areas and North of Florida. No out Of State Applications Accepted.

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to The Following:
  • Ability to Independently Manage a Full Caseload of Workers' Compensation Cases of Varying Degrees of Complexity from Case Inception Through Trial/resolution.
  • Litigate Cases to Verdict, Demonstrating Superior Use of Trial Skills and Techniques.
  • Independently Drafts Pleadings, Motions, Briefs, Discovery, and Other File Documents.
  • Attends Court Events, Depositions, Hearings, and Other Appointments Independently.
  • Provides Recommendations and Case Analysis to Department Head on Appropriate File Handling Strategy.
  • Integrates Legal Support Staff Into the Case Handling Process.
  • Provide Advice and Training to Claim Partners and Clients.
  • Create and Maintain Software Documentation.

Requirements/skills:
  • Must Be Admitted to The State Bar of Florida & Actively Licensed to Practice Law.
  • Must Have a Juris Doctor Degree.
  • 5-10 Years of Workers' Compensation Experience.
  • Extremely Detail Oriented, Self-Motivated, and Disciplined.
  • Demonstrated Track Record of Trial Skills and Techniques.
  • Ability to Work in A Paperless Environment.
  • Proficient with Computers, Web-Based Applications, and Microsoft Office.
  • Possess Technical Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills.

  • Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • Must Be Able to Work Within a Team Environment.
