An American Franchisee Company is seeking a skilled lawyer to join our dynamic legal team headquartered in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will have a versatile legal background and the eagerness to venture into new practice areas.Responsibilities:
- Provide the Company's real estate and construction teams with advice and counsel with respect to a broad range of real estate matters, including leasing, lease disputes, real estate purchases and sales, sale/leaseback transactions, and real estate development.
- Assist with litigation management, including case strategy, the issuance of legal holds, compliance with subpoenas and discovery requests, and the preparation of settlement agreements.
- Draft, negotiate and provide internal business partners with advice with respect to a wide variety of commercial contracts and agreements, including vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, consulting agreements and confidentiality agreements.
- Provide advice and counsel to Human Resources and other internal business partners on employment and labor law matters.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Bar admission and in good standing in the State of New York.
- 6-10+ years of relevant experience.
- Prior in-house counsel experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Team player with strong project management and organizational skills.

Desired Experience:
- Commercial real estate experience.
- Experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts and agreements.
- Litigation and/or litigation management experience.
- Employment and labor law experience.
- Experience managing outside counsel.
