An American Franchisee Company is seeking a skilled lawyer to join our dynamic legal team headquartered in Syracuse, NY. Responsibilities:
  • Provide the Company's real estate and construction teams with advice and counsel with respect to a broad range of real estate matters, including leasing, lease disputes, real estate purchases and sales, sale/leaseback transactions, and real estate development.
  • Assist with litigation management, including case strategy, the issuance of legal holds, compliance with subpoenas and discovery requests, and the preparation of settlement agreements.
  • Draft, negotiate and provide internal business partners with advice with respect to a wide variety of commercial contracts and agreements, including vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, consulting agreements and confidentiality agreements.
  • Provide advice and counsel to Human Resources and other internal business partners on employment and labor law matters.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Bar admission and in good standing in the State of New York.
  • 6-10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Prior in-house counsel experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Experience:
  • Commercial real estate experience.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts and agreements.
  • Litigation and/or litigation management experience.
  • Employment and labor law experience.
  • Experience managing outside counsel.
