A Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has an exciting opportunity to join our world-class Global Litigation & Investigations team. This team is responsible for safeguarding A Semiconductor Manufacturing Company innovations and reputation. We build relationships and collaborate with key partners across the company to protect the company and its most valuable assets and ensure compliance with the laws and regulations of every country in which we do business. We leverage cutting edge technology and techniques to investigate and take action, while relentlessly preventing and mitigating risk for the company in jurisdictions across the globe.

As part of this team, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing litigation and regulatory risk in all aspects of the company's business. You will also manage a complex litigation, pre-litigation, and investigations docket, with particular emphasis on government inquiries and regulatory investigations and general litigation matters.

This position requires identifying and solving complex problems that impact the direction of a global business. Candidates must have substantive (and substantial) government investigations and litigation experience and possess strong matter management skills. Candidates must demonstrate sound legal judgment, aptitude for novel issues and complex technologies, and an ability to quickly learn and grow within an increasingly dynamic business environment.

This position will be based out of A Semiconductor Manufacturing Company' Santa Clara Headquarters. Occasional travel will be necessary to support pending matters and strategic initiatives.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
  • Managing offensive and defensive investigations, government inquiries and regulatory investigations, litigation, and pre-litigation matters, while collaborating with outside counsel as needed to resolve matters in a cost-effective manner. This includes managing all aspects of these matters, including overall strategy, early case assessment, staffing, budgets, discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal.
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing litigation risk in all aspects of the company's business.
  • Advising business stakeholders on litigation risk prevention and mitigation.
  • Serving as a liaison with government investigators and other personnel as needed.
  • Presenting lessons learned from investigations and litigations and working with cross-functional teams to address and mitigate risk for the company.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and currently admitted to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction
  • 7+ years of broad regulatory investigations and/or litigation experience at a top-tier law firm
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and advise on litigation risk, engage in early case assessment, and leverage strategies for cost reduction and pre-litigation dispute resolution
  • Experience interviewing and/or deposing individuals in both fact finding and adversarial settings
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Exposure to complex regulatory and/or white-collar investigations
  • Ability to travel for hearings, witness interviews, depositions, trial, and other events as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Substantive trial, arbitration, and/or adversarial administrative proceeding experience
  • Previous in-house experience (preferably at a technology company with global operations)
  • Substantive experience handling complex regulatory and/or white-collar investigations
  • Understanding of computer and digital forensics
