Job Details:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
  • Provide legal guidance and advice to internal stakeholders, executives, and business units on a wide range of legal issues, including but not limited to contracts, regulatory compliance, employment law, and litigation risks
  • Review, draft, and negotiate various types of contracts, commercial agreements, and legal documents related to the company's operations, including but not limited to vendor contracts, customer agreements, and partnership agreements
  • Oversee or coordinate the company's involvement in legal disputes, including selecting and managing external counsel, participating in litigation strategy, and assessing potential settlement options
  • Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions, including due diligence and drafting transaction-related documents
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities
  • Advise on employment-related legal matters, including employee contracts, policies, compliance with labor laws, and handling employment disputes
  • Identify legal risks and potential liabilities for the company's business activities and manage those risks effectively
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the company's industry and operations, and ensure the company's compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • Embody and uphold A Property Management Company's values and DNA, driving enthusiasm and passion for the business mission across the organization

Education and/or Experience:
  • A Juris Doctoral (J.D) degree is required and have passed the bar for the jurisdiction from an accredited law school
  • Active attorney ‘s license to practice law from the State Bar Association
  • 5+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and employment law
  • Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent communicator, low ego, capable of motivating and energizing reports and peers, with a proven ability to create a highly collaborative working environment and generate enthusiasm for the company's mission
  • High self-awareness, open to and acts on feedback, emotional intelligence with a demonstrated ability to storytell and sell to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Active membership in the state bar association and in good standing
  • Startup, real estate, or asset/property management experience is preferred

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge Microsoft 365, Advance in Microsoft Excel, and proficient in Word, PowerPoint is required.
