The Senior Corporate Counsel is responsible for providing counsel in multiple areas of employment law as well as contractual review and analysis of various contracts and developing solutions to complex problems under the supervision of the SVP & Associate General Counsel or EVP & General Counsel, depending on the candidate.

How you'll make an impact
  • Working with HR business partners to conduct current and former employee claims and conduct investigations, draft employee policies, complete state compliance reports, and complete separation agreements
  • Managing restrictive covenants (non-compete) enforcement and litigation
  • Working with HR operations, compensation team and other personnel regarding compensation policies, plans and related claims
  • Responding to government entity inquiries regarding employment matters
  • Drafting, analyzing, and negotiating a variety of contract, information security and privacy documents
  • Negotiating all types of business and information technology contracts as directed by General Counsel and SVP & Associate General Counsel for any and all departments
  • Provide advice to legal analysts and paralegals regarding regulatory compliance, court actions, and third party risk
  • Planning, scheduling, and arranging activities to accomplish objectives and work assignments
  • Timely processing of projects and legal document activities
  • Assisting in maintaining a centralized repository of legal documents in electronic format
  • Providing some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the department in regards to
  • document standards and template development
  • Communicating and negotiating directly with internal and external customers, vendors, and business partners
  • Providing a high-quality service level to all internal and external customers ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and follow-up

What we're hiring for
  • 5 – 15 years of practical experience in employment law and/or analyzing and negotiating moderate and mid-level contractual agreements
  • Training and experience in US State, Canada, GDPR and other privacy laws
  • Understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, practices, and standards used to minimize corporate risk and liability in contractual relationships
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems and provide counsel to internal stakeholders regarding proposed employment matters and contract terms and conditions
  • Capability to understand, analyze, and interpret claims, contractual language, and summarize findings in concise, articulate manner
  • Ability to be discrete and maintain confidentiality with respect to agreement contents and other highly sensitive business matters and projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Juris Doctor and License to practice law
