The Role:
Attorney working in the Corporate Contracts Americas Legal Team. The position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule and based in Davidson, NC.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Support the Global Procurement Organization as a member of the Corporate Contracts Americas Legal Team. Support includes, but is not limited to, efficient contract review; driving consistency in the contract management process; advising procurement and business stakeholders on contract risks; and negotiating contracts with the Global Procurement Organization.
  • Emphasis on IT related contracts, with additional proficiency in professional services as well as other supply agreements.
  • Assist in managing, creating, and improving standard legal work, processes, and tools within the Global Procurement Organization.
  • Recommend improvements to polices, templates, tools, and processes that ensure contractual documents are aligned with An American Irish-Domiciled Diversified Industrial Manufacturing Company' business controls, policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including data privacy and security. Implement updates as appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Global Procurement Organization to implement best-in-class solutions, tools, and training to improve supplier contract processes and reduce legal risks in An American Irish-Domiciled Diversified Industrial Manufacturing Company' supply chain.
  • Assist and provide support to internal clients and legal colleagues on disputes, litigation, and compliance matters.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree from an accredited US or Canadian law school.
  • Good standing member of a State Bar Association.
  • Minimum of 5+ years related experience – at least 1 year in-house experience preferred.
  • Strong contract review, drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong legal judgment.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating IT contracts, including Software/SaaS agreements, and knowledge of related data privacy and security standards, laws, regulations and requirements is required.
  • Proven experience in commercial and transactional matters.
  • Working knowledge of various other supplier contracts and other transactional documents with a willingness to gain in-depth understanding.
  • Expert grasp on contracting concepts and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Superior legal and analytical skills – excellent judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to stand firm on issues with business clients when necessary.
  • Ability to quickly understand business objective of an agreement, identify related issues, and facilitate a risk/benefit analysis.
  • Business-oriented approach to problem-solving, tempered by an appreciation for legal complexity and risk.
