Who We're Looking for:An Online Pet Care Marketplace Company is looking for an adept and personable technology lawyer to join our busy legal team as Senior Counsel (Corporate Counsel III). In this role, you will have outsized impact on An Online Pet Care Marketplace Company's business, providing legal support in the areas of product counseling, consumer protection, data privacy, cybersecurity, and contract negotiation. Our successful candidate will have substantial experience in the technology space, preferably in-house, including familiarity with cutting edge issues involving ecommerce, open source software, and artificial intelligence. Intellectual curiosity and the willingness to roll up one's sleeves in order to tackle a variety of projects are a must. This is a great opportunity to stretch beyond discrete subject matter areas and truly partner with the business to drive impact.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide primary, day-to-day legal support to our Product, Engineering, and Corporate Development teams
- Serve as the legal team's in-house expert on data privacy, consumer protection and other compliance obligations.
- Collaborate closely with other in-house attorneys on areas within and adjacent to your subject matter expertise.
Your qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed (or license pending) attorney in Washington State
- 8-10 years of legal practice (law firm or in-house)
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Voracious learner who can integrate knowledge with practice
- Exceptional judgment and personal integrity
