Description:

You will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and will lead legal support for the AWS colocation legal team in the Americas, which supports AWS's worldwide data center expansion through colocation data center leasing, capacity expansion, compliance, and connectivity. You will have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and an eagerness to work closely with and be a trusted advisor to your business partners. In this role, you will be involved in structuring, drafting and negotiating deals and will provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis. You will also be involved in developing colocation specifications for new infrastructure and services, and will help support AWS's existing colocation portfolio and manage outside counsel. You will also help develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team, resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of legal experience
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • Experience as a real estate, banking & finance or technology transactions attorney

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
  • Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent
  • Experience in people management
