A Women-Owned Law Firm is an award-winning, mid-sized law firm in Northern Virginia looking to hire an Estate Planning Attorney with business law experience who will work in both our estate planning practice group (~70%) and business practice group (~30%).

This position is full-time and may be performed remotely. Virginia law license is required (DC and/or Maryland is a bonus).

Must be a self-starter and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Our expectations include that you have the ability to quickly learn new tasks, think ahead, work independently, be detail and deadline oriented, and work well with others.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of business law and/or estate planning experience;
  • Substantive experience working with business start-ups;
  • Knowledge and ability to draft business contracts such as client services contracts, employee/independent contractor agreements, buy/sell agreements, etc;
  • Familiarity with trademarks & IP issues relating to small business is a plus;
  • Experience working with clients regarding all aspects of estate planning such as consultations, designing a plan that will best fit the client's needs, drafting the plan, and counseling and explaining the plan to the client, etc;
  • Experience with drafting and counseling clients on advance estate planning documents (i.e. ILITs, CRUTs, SNTs) is a plus;
  • Experience with trust administration and probate is a plus;
  • Prior experience working at a law firm in a similar position is required;
  • Ability to supervise work performed by junior associates, paralegals, legal assistant and/or paralegals;
  • VA law license is required. DC &/or MD a bonus.
