Growing Long Island firm which represents large retail clients seeking an attorney with a minimum of4 years of litigation experience for our Jericho, New York office. Come join our outstanding and congenial staff!Applicant Requirements:
- Demonstrate an ability to analyze issues, communicate regularly with clients, and develop strategies to resolve cases efficiently and effectively;
- Experience in preparing and handling pleadings, responsive pleadings, discovery demands, depositions, and motion practice;
- Commute to and from office and in-court proceedings;
- Trial experience and experience with commercial-civil litigation matters is a plus.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school;
- Member in good standing of, and an active member with, the New York State Bar and Eastern and Southern Districts of the United States District Court;
- Excellent analytical and communication skills;
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Associate will be expected to:
- Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients, maintaining strong client relationships;
- Make court appearances;
- Prepare pleadings and motions;
- Handle discovery process (depositions, document review and submission);
- Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel;
- Prepare witnesses, evidence and documents for trial; and
- Represent clients in court proceedings and mediation sessions.
