A Healthcare Litigation, Professional Liability Defense Law Firm, a top-notched civil defense litigation firm located in Houston, Texas, is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled candidate to fill a Litigation Associate position and to join our legal team. The firm defenses a wide variety of personal injury cases, including car accidents, construction accidents, premise liabilities, Dram Shop, medical malpractice and more.Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues related to ongoing cases
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery.
- Assist with case management, including organizing files and maintaining case calendars
- Prepare evaluations and reports in effectively, timely and professional manner to clients
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the litigation process
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide legal advice
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents
- Actively participate in all aspects of litigation management.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; preferably graduated in Top 1/3 of Class and participated in moot court/mock trial and journal experience.
- License to practice in Texas; preferably 1-5 years of Civil litigation experience with prior trial experience as Second Chair
- Strong knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficiency in legal research using Westlaw or Lexis-Nexis
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions
- Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work with a team and/or independently
