The Vermont Attorney General's Office (AGO) seeks a talented and motivated person to join the AGO senior staff overseeing the AGO's work with the Legislature. The position represents the Attorney General (AG) on a variety of boards and commissions and advising on policy work generally.

The individual selected for this position will report to the Chief of Staff. This position will manage legislative work by the AGO, including advocating for the AG's positions, liaising with stakeholders, testifying, assigning topics and bills to AGO staff, and providing general support to the Legislature as needed. This position will run weekly internal legislative meetings during the legislative session, assist the Chief of Staff with briefing the AG as to policy matters and carrying out the direction of the AG, and will represent the AG on standing committees and legislative working groups. This position will also assist the Outreach and Communications Coordinator in drafting constituent correspondence related to legislative and policy work and oversee expungement clinics with assistance from the Outreach and Communications Coordinator.

The successful candidate must have either graduated from law school or completed the Law Office Study program. Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate and work as a team. Experience with criminal justice helpful, but not required.
