Description:
We are seeking a labor & employment staff lawyer with at least five
years of experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive counseling
and advice experience on a broad range of labor and employment issues,
including federal and state discrimination statutes, accommodation and
leave, and wage and hour requirements. This position will also support
the labor and employment aspects of corporate transactions, as well as
employment litigation. Experience with traditional labor law (union)
issues is a plus. The position requires expertise in drafting employment
contracts, employee policies, severance agreements, EEOC position
statements, discovery responses, motions, and briefs. Experience with
OFCCP affirmative action plans and pay equity issues is also a plus. In
addition, this lawyer will have strong writing and communications
skills, attention to detail, solid law firm experience, and an eager
willingness to serve with a client-pleasing personality. This position
is based in our Houston office.
