A Privately Held Texas Oil & Gas Company is a privately held oil and gas company based in Addison, Texas, with a mission of striving to help partners achieve significant tax savings, monthly passive income, and a multiple on invested capital. To do that, King creates asset-based partnership entities in which accredited investors can join by acquiring an equity stake in the partnership. King currently operates over 200 wells across the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming.

A Privately Held Texas Oil & Gas Company is currently looking for a Junior Associate Attorney, which it envisions will be a unique hybrid opportunity to both oversee companywide compliance on all levels and work closely with King's Chief Legal Officer. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the creation, implementation, and enforcement of internal controls throughout the company, with an emphasis on the company's Growth Team and capital raise efforts. The candidate will report directly to King's Chief Legal Officer and will be called upon to support the Chief Legal Officer and King by conducting typical in-house attorney duties. This is a great opportunity for a new-licensed or junior attorney to gain vast in-house experience and practice corporate, securities, and oil and gas law, while being supported by a seasoned attorney.

This position is onsite in A Privately Held Texas Oil & Gas Company's Addison, Texas, office. This is a salaried role with bonus potential. Benefits include PTO, Holidays, and a variety of insurance (medical, vision, dental, and supplemental).

Representative Job Duties/Skills
  • Review and drafting of legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and leases
  • Conduct research on, and remain abreast of, relevant laws, regulations, and legal issues affecting A Privately Held Texas Oil & Gas Company
  • Organize and maintain documents in electronic filing system
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information and practices
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and analyze information skillfully with minimal supervision
  • Ability to absorb and synthesize information, conduct research, present a plan of action to management, and implement said plan
  • Maintain positive professional relationships and a status of mutual respect with all company departments
  • Other tasks, duties, and projects as assigned

Education and Experience:
  • JD from ABA accredited law school and license to practice in one or more US jurisdictions is required
  • Familiarity with oil and gas industry, especially with land/typical related transaction documents
  • Prior experience at a transactional law firm preferred
  • Regulation D offering and/or other securities-related experience preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Document review, preparation, and drafting skills preferred
