Job Summary:A leading intellectual property law firm seeks to hire a highly qualified entry level associate to join our practice in CT. The candidate will be preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of technology areas.
Responsibilities:
- Draft & prosecute patent & trademark applications
- Conduct legal research & prepare opininon letters
- Assist foreign associates regarding IP formalities & foreign filings
- Support other attorneys in preparing for litigation cases
- Assist in drafting briefs, arguments and trial preparation
- Assist with negotiations and settlement discussions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow
Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or physics background
- Current bar membership or eligible to take CT & USPTO bar examinations
- Strong organizational & research skills; ability to gather and analyze information effectively
- Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of legal drafting techniques and document preparation
- One to two years of experience preferred
- License/Certification: Connecticut State Bar admission is preferred. USPTO Bar Exam is required within the first year of employment.
