Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for providing comprehensive legal services, analysis and counsel relating to overall operations of the company including but not limited to: franchising, trademarks, licensing, retail, lease and construction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Counsel will work closely with brand executives to ensure compliance with all legal requirements regarding business operations, including but not limited to licensing, franchising, procurement, supply and distribution agreement, loan agreements, employment law, operations, marketing, trademark registration and renewals of all intellectual property, protection and enforcement through noncompete and confidentiality agreements.
  • Fundamental and technical drafting of negotiating business initiatives, maintaining and enforcing the Franchise Agreements, renew and negotiate contracts / agreements. Ensure legal compliance of such contracts and agreements to include reals estate purchase agreements, negotiation of sub leases, supervise execution of agreements, workers compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Identify and communicate risks and issues.
  • Champion and ensure corporate compliance policies and organizational changes that strengthen the Company and its ability to accelerate growth to include change and process improvements.
  • Maintain and manage the budget and relationships with external law firms and other legal and insurance provider with respect to Company and Franchise operating matters.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and supervise the legal and benefits staff.
  • Represent the Company in various legal proceedings and perform general legal assignments.
  • Keep current with changes and developments in the law relating to accountabilities set forth and communicate that knowledge as appropriate.
