The compensation package for this position falls within the range of $80,000 to $115,000, which includes bonuses, health benefits, and 401(k) contributions. We cover all bar dues and CLE fees. The role includes a base salary with an attractive bonus.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Direct and supervise the work of support staff
  • Draft pleadings and orders
  • Prepare equitable distribution charts
  • Conduct monthly file review meetings
  • Monitor retainer balances and communicate replenishment needs to the billing specialist
  • Communicate with the client to understand their goal and develop a corresponding strategy to meet those goals
  • Represent clients in appeal when necessary
  • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings
  • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
  • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases

Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have a license to practice law in either West Virginia or Ohio and be willing to obtain the other state licensure upon being offered employment
  • Prior family law experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Empathy for clients with a genuine desire to improve their lives
  • Juris Doctor Degree
  • Great Negotiation Skills
  • Willingness to travel to other areas of the state for hearings and meetings
