Job Summary:
The Estate Planning/Estate Administration Attorney will be responsible for preparing documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. They will also guide clients through the estate administration process, from identifying estate assets to distributing assets to beneficiaries.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified attorney with excellent academic credentials and extensive estate planning and estate administration knowledge. They should be confident appearing before the court and have excellent written communication abilities. Candidates must be highly organized, responsive, and able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Position Purpose:
To prepare documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney and guide clients through the estate administration process while enthusiastically supporting our mission to serve clients in this unique and rewarding practice area.

Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Effectively and confidently communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing each client's unique situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Use extensive knowledge to provide clients with information about asset allocation, beneficiary designations, estate tax ramifications, retirement plans, charitable contributions, and insurance choices that best suit their needs
  • Prepare both basic and sophisticated wills, trusts, power of attorney, deeds and other ancillary estate planning documents
  • Counsel fiduciaries in estate and trust administrations
  • Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to delegate work
  • Effectively manage the client's needs in a timely manner
  • Prioritize communication both internally and externally to make people feel heard while emphasizing a compassionate attitude.
  • Research ways to boost their knowledge in estate planning/estate administration and other related practice areas
  • Appear on behalf of clients in court

This position may be for you if you have the following:
  • Three to Five years experience
  • Complex case management preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills exhibiting a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong customer and quality focus
  • Attention to detail is key
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities; ability to multi-task and track assigned projects.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Tabs/PracticeMaster & Law Firm based document management systems is preferred
