A Law School invites applications for appointment as the Director of the Pritzker Legal Research Center (PLRC). Candidates will be considered for an administrative faculty appointment as Director and a renewable, long-term faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. Northwestern seeks a dynamic and innovative Director with proven leadership and communication skills, and fresh ideas to meet the challenges law libraries and law schools are facing today and in the future. The responsibilities of the Director include overseeing all aspects of library operations and services, including budget development and management, hiring and supervision of 11 professional librarians and several staff members, strategic planning, acquisition management, and legal-research teaching and curriculum development. The Director will report directly to the Dean and will serve on the senior leadership team.

A Law School is a leader in innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. The PLRC supports the teaching and research activities of our over 900 J.D., LL.M., and MSL students and over 100 full-time faculty members. Required qualifications for a successful candidate include a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school, or an equivalent advanced law degree, and an M.L.S. (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited program and substantial administrative and management experience as a director or associate director, or equivalent level of seniority, within an academic law library. We seek candidates with knowledge of and experience with law library collection management, student and faculty services, staff development, budgeting, interlibrary collaboration, and emerging information technology.
