An American Fortune Global 500 and Fortune 500 Company is seeking a versatile and highly motivated attorney to help provide legal support to its Group Insurance business. The ideal candidate will be business-minded and should be familiar with or willing to learn the laws, rules and regulations that apply to group insurance products and services to help ensure legal compliance by the company.

The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment under the supervision of more senior attorneys. This position will give the candidate broad exposure to the business, internal clients and corporate partners (Compliance, Risk, and others) as well as the opportunity to work on groundbreaking legal issues related to the growth and advancement of innovative group insurance products and services. In general, the successful candidate should be collaborative and an excellent communicator with stellar analytical skills.

The current Employee Work Arrangement (EWA) for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business, with a minimum of 2 days per week. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:
  • Providing timely and pragmatic advice and counsel to business clients in connection with group insurance products and services.
  • Drafting and negotiating service provider agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Reviewing marketing materials for group insurance products and services.
  • Coordinating with internal constituencies to ensure timely delivery of appropriate advice.
  • Advising on issues pertaining to insurance company regulatory matters.
  • Staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments and business trends impacting group insurance products and services.

What You'll Need:
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • 4+ years of experience either with a law firm, insurance company or other financial services institution.
  • Bar admission and active license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar, ability to register as in-house counsel.
  • A strong work ethic and customer-service mentality.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing insurance products.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating customer, vendor or non-disclosure agreements.
  • Familiarity with ERISA issues.
