A Seattle Law Firm is not just looking for another attorney to fill a spot. We are looking to hire and retain a passionate legal professional with a strong focus on customer service, a team player with a positive attitude, who has a proven track record in criminal defense, and strives for continuous improvement.

Someone with law firm experience, excellent client relationship skills, practical insight, creativity, and a self-starter mindset who can build a legal practice in a collegial environment.

Candidate's Responsibilities
  1. Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, staff, and supervisor on regular basis;
  2. Efficiently providing superior service to clients;
  3. Being a trusted advisor to clients through strategic thinking, problem solving, and providing sound legal advice;
  4. Marketing both yourself and Community Law's services to prospective clients;
  5. Conducting legal research and drafting letters, briefs, memorandums, and other legal documents;
  6. Efficiently providing top-notch legal products and superior service to clients;
  7. Being a trusted advisor to clients through strategic thinking, problem solving, and providing sound legal advice; and
  8. Ability to market both your and Community Law Firm's services to prospective clients.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a team player who enjoys working with and supporting the other attorneys and employees in the firm;
  • Must have a strong work ethic with and a thorough understanding of what is required to be successful in a client-service industry;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service focused approach;
  • Positive attitude, resilience, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Common sense, great judgment, and a positive and willing attitude;
  • Ability to foster and maintain a well-respected reputation with supervisors and staff, judges, court personnel, opposing counsel, and colleagues;
  • Ability to work independently when necessary;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while meeting critical deadlines.

Other Obvious Requirements
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and an active member of the Washington State Bar Association (applicants with eligibility for reciprocal admission may be considered);
  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing criminal defense attorney
  • Comfortable in the courtroom;
  • Extensive knowledge of criminal laws, procedures, and court rules.
  • Extensive knowledge of traffic, DUI, and criminal laws of the State of Washington;
  • Extensive knowledge of the criminal rules of procedure;
  • Previous experience handling a case from start through trial;
  • Litigation and courtroom experience.
