Description:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and holds active membership in the bar of at least one U.S. state.
  • 3+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, within a law firm or in-house, with a focus of employment law.

Job Summary:
  • Represents the organization in legal claims, lawsuits, and litigation. Advises and consults with managers and departments on legal issues while educating internal clients on proactive measures and approaches to reduce potential legal exposure.
  • Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Receives and reviews company legal disputes, including employment-related litigation and administrative claims to provide legal responses, assess cost, and develop litigation strategies.
  • Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations for the business and collaborates with external counsel to address state and federal complaints through various legal proceedings.
  • Conducts internal investigations and addresses formal administrative complaints, charges, and attorney demand letters.
  • Responds to third-party requests and prepares necessary productions, while reviewing outside counsel and vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Offers comprehensive legal advice and strategic support on employment law matters to internal clients.
  • Drafts and reviews employment documents, including contracts, policies and procedures, and non-solicitation letters.
  • Develops litigation tools, oversees the matter management system, and ensures activity reporting is presented to senior management.
  • Identifies employment-related legal matters that may have significant implications for the company and promptly reports them to the Senior Corporate Counsel.

Education and Experience:
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
