Description:
Position Summary:A Family Law Firm has an opening in our Santa Monica, CA office for a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in successfully executing legal strategy, taking depositions, motion practice, trial, arbitration, hearings, producing witnesses for depositions, and other key litigation events. Candidates must have law firm experience and previous experience advocating for clients. The candidate should have some experience with real estate or commercial construction litigation (not defect).
Qualifications / Skills
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record
- Admission to the California state bar
- Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients
- Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and organization skills
- Outstanding judgement
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects
- Ability to develop and implement legal strategies
Physical Requirements:
- Position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve the need for inter-office mobility for brief periods of time
- Ability to occasionally or routinely lift up to 10 – 20 lbs.
- Ability to efficiently communicate
- Ability to perform repetitive motions required
- Ability to see and read PC screens, detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print
