Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients and their advisors to develop strategies designed to meet specific business goals.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents essential to business transactions.
  • Provide legal counsel on a wide range of business matters, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support business initiatives and mitigate risks.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Engage in business development activities, including networking and professional organization involvement.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Successful passing of the bar exam
  • Active member in good standing of the Bar or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Iowa.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in business law, including corporate transactions and commercial litigation.
  • Strong work ethic, drive, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a small team environment.

Preferred Experience:
  • 7+ years of specific experience in business law.
  • Excellent academic and professional credentials.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
