Description:
Duties:
Under general direction, the Attorney III
works closely with the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and
Regional Director on a variety of issues, including: formulating
policies and procedures, administrative matters, mentoring less
experienced attorneys, training regional office staff, reviewing drafts
of case-related documents, complex case work and other matters as
needed.

Desirable Qualifications:
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Spanish preferred but not required
- Understanding of and/or experience with issues impacting low-wage immigrant workers such as farmworkers, and the agricultural community
- Well-developed and demonstrated legal research, writing, analysis and advocacy skills
- Labor law experience
- Familiarity with the Agricultural Labor Relations Act
- Hearing and/or trial experience
- Litigation experience
- Experience working with outside counsel
- Knowledge of rules of evidence, administrative hearings and state and federal civil procedure
- Knowledge of and familiarity with government policies and procedures
