A Government Entity seeks to fill a Limited Term/Full Time Attorney III position in the Legal & Legislative Affairs Program.

Under the general direction of A Government Entitys Chief Counsel, the Senior Staff Counsel demonstrates expertise in the performance of difficult, complex, sensitive, and specialized legal work in all areas of responsibility of A Government Entity, with a focus on providing counsel and advice to the Office of Community Partnerships and Strategic Communications (OCPSC) with minimal supervision. The Senior Staff Counsel is responsible for providing research and analytical legal services needed to advise OPR and OCPSC leadership in the legal implications of OCPSC's activities. Senior Staff Counsel works independently on assignments. Senior Staff Counsel is assigned the more difficult, sensitive, and complex litigation/legal work of the OCPSC and A Government Entity and works on these matters with broad discretion and independence. Senior Staff Counsel will support, review, and coordinate OCPSC's agreements with agency partners and contractors, and, as needed, engage in litigation in coordination with the Attorney General and A Government Entity's Chief Counsel.

Note: Training & Development (T&D) assignments will not be considered for this recruitment.

  • Ability to represent the A Government Entity and OCPSC in dealings with other government agencies and private entities in a way that reflects well on the agency.

  • Superior analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written, superior interpersonal skills, and tact.
  • Superior research skills and work habits and the ability to complete work under deadlines.
  • Experience working in and with under-resourced communities including disadvantaged communities (DAC), Tribal communities, rural communities, immigrant communities, low-income communities, and/or communities of color.
