Generally responsible for supporting the Company subsidiaries' Disputes and Complaints Departments, with a specific concentration on handling regulatory complaints and dispute-related matters.
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, Juris Doctorate required
- 2 years of related experience preferred
- Self-starter, with the ability to organize, plan and direct
- Professional, customer service oriented, tactful, dependable, and flexible
- Familiarity with federal and state laws and regulations related to consumer credit and collections, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Truth-in-Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and Equal Credit Opportunity Act
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, and dependability; excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels of the Company
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Investigate, review, and respond to complaints and regulatory inquiries which may include disputes received from customers and/or counsel on behalf of customers, and from regulatory agencies.
- Act as liaison between the company and regulatory agencies in responding to inquiries and requests for production of records and documents.
- Maintain and review relevant policies and procedures.
- Conduct relevant legal research, as necessary, to assist in recommending revisions and/or additions to the Company's existing and new business strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies across areas of organizational responsibility.
- Prepares and reviews oral and written communication requests and complaints, investigates allegations, and makes every effort to resolve issues amicably in a timely fashion.
- Be a subject matter expert relating to state and federal laws governing consumer credit reporting, consumer credit and collections.
