Fast-paced Elder Law Firm Seeks Attorney. This can be a full-time remote opportunity or ideally, candidate will reside within the Miami-Dade, Broward and lower Palm Beach Counties for hybrid opportunity. REQUIRED: experience working with Florida Medicaid planning and applications, to serve in an Associate capacity, who aligns with the firm's values and can contribute to its mission of providing exceptional legal counsel.

We are searching for a tenacious, perceptive Attorney who specializes in Medicaid and government benefits, to consult with and convert the increasing Medicaid/ government benefits client caseload. This Associate Attorney's responsibilities include meeting with clients to ascertain their needs, counsel and recommend the most appropriate, affordable course of action, in a clear and relatable way for PCs who may not initially understand what services they actually require. During the process, you will work in conjunction with a supportive Intake, Sales and dedicated Medicaid Team, in addition to collaborating with and reporting to the firm's Managing Attorney. In-office hours for local candidates (hybrid) will be required 2-3 days per week, whether in our Boca Raton, Plantation or Aventura (MAIN) office.

??Qualifications:
  • REQUIRED: Accredited Law Degree; in Good Standing with the Florida Bar and 4-5 years' hands-on Florida Medicaid-planning experience.
  • Additional knowledge about public benefits in general, including Social Security, SSDI, SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
  • Knowledge of Florida Medicaid-compliant asset protection and government benefits preservation legal vehicles and strategies.
  • Ability to SELL and convey the value proposition of our services.
  • Innate dedication to ensuring the best outcome for all parties associated with the firm.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and other members of the team, with respect and courtesy.
  • Familiarity with legal documents / drafting software, i.e. ElderDocx.
  • Familiarity with Lawmatics CRM or similar for cross-train.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to empathetically and patiently explain what may be difficult concepts to understand/grasp for our client base of mostly seniors and their caregivers and family members.
  • Strong work ethic, time management and accountability; ability to self-manage required to work virtually.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Perceptive and meticulous, with a thorough understanding of human behavior.
  • Capacity to regulate and perform under stress.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to take initiative in ways to improve processes.
  • Computer literate includes proficiency in Google and Microsoft applications.
  • Florida Notary.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive consultations with pre-qualified potential new clients, conveying value proposition of firm's services, while patiently and empathetically explaining the value and process.
  • Draft/review legal documents/instruments for/with clients of the firm via phone and Zoom.
  • Contributing writing articles and recording videos for the firm's web site: https://www.elderneedslaw.com.
  • Ability to construct a succinct post-consultation summary.
  • Representing clients at meetings, (virtual) hearings rarely, but when-needed.
  • Informing the Managing Attorney about salient developments in each case.
  • Ensuring that data obtained during interactions with clients remain confidential and are stored securely.
  • Reporting on hours spent on each task/case via CRM.
  • Maintain a caseload commensurate with abilities in order to provide full and effective legal representation and advocacy.
  • Maintain and grow knowledge in a specialized area of law, and competence in related areas of law.
  • Comply with all applicable regulations, policies, and grant requirements.
  • Support, promote and participate in community education, outreach and develop good public relations with clients.
